What is dahi paratha?
Dahi paratha or dahi ke parathe is a very healthy and soft paratha recipe. It tastes just like thepla which is a Gujarati recipe. The use of curd or dahi makes this curd paratha very soft. This is a softest paratha I have came across.
How to make dahi ke parathe?
Dahi paratha is a very easy recipe which can be made with easily available ingredients at home. It is a very healthy recipe made with only 2 main ingredients dahi or curd and flour. I have used multigrain atta or flour to make this dahi paratha but you can also use plain flour. Dahi paratha or curd paratha recipe results in a very soft paratha. I have also added some spices to make it more tasty.
Tips and tricks for making dahi or curd paratha
- You can also add methi or fenugreek and palak or spinach to dahi paratha.
- Do not add water to the dough before mixing the curd as it has lot of water.
- You can add any spices of your choice to make it more tasty.
- You can also fold these dahi paratha the way you like, I have used square paratha technique.

Dahi paratha (Curd Paratha)
Dahi paratha or curd paratha is a very soft paratha which is healthy for breakfast recipe.
Servings: 8 paratha
Calories: 180kcal
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour whole wheat
- 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp oil
- 2 green chillies finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger grated
- handful coriander leaves finely chopped
- handful mint leaves finely chopped
- 3/4 cup curd
- water for kneading
Instructions
- Take whole wheat flour/ atta in a bowl.
- Add all the spices, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, curd or dahi and oil to it. Mix it well.
- Add water and knead a soft dough. Cover it and rest for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, knead it a little and take a small portion and roll it in your palm to make a small ball.
- Add some flour to it and roll it using a rolling pin.
- Now apply oil all over it. Sprinkle some flour all over it.
- Fold 2 ends of it until the centre. Again add the oil and sprinkle the flour. Fold the other 2 ends to make a square shape.
- Roll it thin in a square shape and place it on hot pan or tawa.
- Apply oil and cook on both sides on high heat until it's fully cooked. Serve it hot!
Notes
- This recipe yields 8 dahi paratha.
- You can add methi or fenugreek leaves to it.
- I have made it square shaped but you can make it in any shape.
