Mug Cake Recipe – Chocolate Cake

This is a mug cake recipe which you can prepare just in 1 minute 30 seconds. This chocolate mug cake is super spongy and soft and it is prepared in microwave. It is a quick recipe and it doesn’t require any baking. Making this cake is quite simple as even kids can make it. I am always up for quick and easy recipes so when I thought of trying this recipe I got really excited. After many trials and errors I got this perfect recipe with perfect measurements.

I have only added baking powder in this recipe, baking soda is not required. Also this is an eggless mug cake recipe. You can also add egg if you want. Some people also add condensed milk to the cake to replace eggs. Here I have not used condensed milk as using baking powder is enough. There are many replacements for eggs such as condensed milk, yogurt or curd, bananas, flaxseeds and many more.

Tips and tricks to make mug cake

1. Do not use convection mode in this recipe
2. Microwave this mug cake at the highest watts.
3. Grease the cup or mug before you fill the batter to avoid sticking
4. Check the cake when it is done by inserting a toothpick, if it comes out clean means it’s done, otherwise microwave for 20 more seconds.

Chocolate Mug Cake step by step with photos

1. Take a cup or mug, add all the ingredients except chocolate chips to it. Mix it well.
   
2. Add chocolate chips to it and mix gently.
3. Add some more chocolate chips on the top. Microwave on high for 1 minute 30 seconds.
4. Chocolate mug cake is ready.
