Ingredients
Boiling pasta
- 5 cups water for boiling
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups penne pasta
For white sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp maida/all purpose flour
- 3/4 cups cold milk
- 3 cheese slices
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp garlic chopped
- 1 red bell pepper chopped
- 1 capsicum chopped
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 1 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese grated
- 2 tbsp olives chopped
Instructions
For boiling pasta
- Boil water in a pan and add salt and olive oil to it.
- Add penne pasta to the boiling water and let the pasta boil on medium heat. Let the pasta boil until it is done al dente, that is it becomes soft yet still firm.
- Strain the pasta in a colander and add cold water to it.
For white sauce
- In a pan add butter and let it melt on low heat. Once the butter melts, add maida and let it roast for a minute on medium heat.
- Add cold milk and mix continuously until everything is combined and no lumps are formed.
- Add cheese slices and mix everything until the cheese melts completely.
- Now in a pan heat olive oil and add chopped garlic. Fry it for a minute on medium heat.
- Add red bell pepper and capsicum and fry on medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Now add oregano, chilli flakes, basil and mix them properly.
- Add the boiled pasta to the vegetables and mix them well. Add salt, black pepper and white sauce to the pasta.
- Mix everything well and transfer the pasta to a glass container that is suitable for baking.
Baking pasta
- Grate some mozzarella cheese and spread it on top of the pasta. Also, add some chopped olives on top.
- Bake the pasta at 200o C for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Remove the pasta from the oven and let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve and enjoy.
