Garlic knots are also known as garlic breads are side dish originated from Italian cuisine. these breads are generally grilled or baked. Garlic knots are classic Italian snack, dough tied in a knot and topped with some garlic butter sauce. Today I am sharing my this delicious garlic knots recipe with detailed step-by-step instructions with photos
This delicious garlic knots recipe is made from dough using flour/maida. I usually prepare this knots every week as they can be prepared quickly also you can use scrapes of dough as well, as these knots can be prepared from dough scrapes these are found to be least expensive in pizzeria menu. Its a quick snack for your family.
I have used flour/maida as main ingredient to prepare this garlic knots recipe with some other small but main ingredients like yeast and sugar. For garlic sauce, Butter and minced garlic are used as main ingredients.
Shelf life of Garlic Knots –
- You can keep the prepared bread with out applying any toppings for few days. Whenever required, microwave it and apply the butter toppings and consume.
- dough can be kept for a week if kept in refrigerator.
Important points-
- Knead the dough properly.
I have also made some other bread like Whole wheat bread and Tandoori roti.

Ingredients
for bread
- 3/4 cup lukewarm water
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 1/4 tbsp yeast
- 2 cups flour/maida
- 2 tbsp olive
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp oil
For garlic paste
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
- 1/3 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup coriander
Instructions
for bread
- First take lukewarm water and add sugar and yeast to it
- now mix it well and let it prove
- take a glass bowl and add maida/flour
- add the yeast mixture and olive and mix it well
- now add salt and knead a soft dough
- add some flour and knead it for 10 minutes
- now take another bowl and grease it with oil
- tuck the dough and keep it, cover it with cling wrap
- now let it prove for 2 hours
- Again add some flour and knead it for 10 more minutes
- divide it in two portions
- cut the one portion in equal sized pieces
- now add some flour and stretch it
- make a knot, place it on a baking tray and leave it for an hour
- now bake it at 200°C/400°F for 15 minutes
- your garlic bread is ready

- now add minced garlic, chilli flakes, black pepper and coriander to it
- mix it well
- apply the garlic paste to hot breads
- your Garlic knots are ready
