Gulab jamun
Servings: 6 people
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1 cardamom
- 8-10 strands saffron
- 4-5 drops lime juice
- 1 1/2 cup milk powder
- 1/3 cup ghee/clarified butter
- 1/3 cup milk
- 4 tbsp flour
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- To prepare gulab jamun, first prepare sugar syrup, add sugar, water, cardamom, saffron and lime juice in a container
- mix it well
- boil until sugar is dissolved
- now in a bowl add milk powder, ghee and mix it well
- add milk and mix it , add milk in batches
- mix it well
- now add it to a pan and cook on low medium heat
- mix until it comes together
- let it cool and add it to a bowl
- add flour, baking powder and mix it well
- add milk and mix it
- knead for 10 minutes
- take a small portion and rub between palms and roll
- drop it in hot oil and fry till golden brown on low heat
- dip it in hot sugar syrup
- cover for 10 minutes
- gulab jamun is ready
