Karachi halwa
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 1 cup water
- 3 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp orange colour
- 3-4 drops lime juice
- 4 tbsp almonds & cashews
Instructions
- First add sugar and water in a pan mix it well
- let it boil
- take a bowl and add corn starch and water mix it
- add it to the sugar syrup
- stir continuously on medium heat
- mix until it thickens
- add ghee and mix it well
- add orange colour and lime juice, mix it well
- cook for 2 minutes on medium heat
- add almonds and cashews
- transfer it to a container and smoothen it
- let it set for an hour
- cut it in desired shape
- karachi halwa is ready

I made this Halwa today, and it turned out good. Thanks for the recipe In the video, you added lime juice but in the written instructions you didn’t mention about adding lime juice. I didn’t add though. Why should we add lime juice?
