What is Rava Fingers
Rava fingers are crispy rava/semolina snack or nuggets. This rava fingers recipe or suji fingers recipe is a delicious, crispy and spicy which is perfect for your tea time snack or for party gatherings. It is named fingers because it is shaped like a finger which is thin and long shape. It is also one of the easy snack recipe which can be prepared quickly.
Generally rava is used to prepare upma, halwa, idli and many more dishes but, there are also many snack which are prepared using rava/semolina and this recipe is one of them. I always try varieties of snack as I have mentioned in my many previous posts that I am a snack and quick recipes fan. this snack recipe is also one the children favourite.
I have used rava and potatoes along with some other spices as the main ingredients in this recipe. which are rolled like a thin finger shape and fried util it turns golden brown in hot oil. So today I am sharing my crispy rava fingers recipe with detailed step-by-step instructions and photos.
How to serve rava fingersÂ
- serve mild hot
- you can also serve it with tomato ketchup or mint chutney
Important pointsÂ
- do not over fry
- let the rava cool before other ingredients are added to it.

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp oil
- 1/2 cup semolina
- 2 medium potatoes boiled
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 green chilli
- handful coriander
Instructions
- First add water, oil and semolina/rava in a pan
- mix continuously and mix well
- cook until it becomes dry
- transfer it to a bowl and add potatoes, ginger garlic paste, salt, chilli flakes, black pepper, green chilli and coriander leaves
- mix it well
- apply oil on the palm
- take a small portion and roll it
- make a cylindrical shape and make sides smooth
- drop it in hot oil
- fry it on medium high heat until it turns golden brown
- crispy rava fingers are ready
